Polishing to a shine

Among the materials worth focusing on in the new autumn season of 2024, there is a clear leader – patent eco-leather. Leather clothing in autumn is an eternal trend, but patent leather has been absent from the fashion forefront for about ten years. In 2022, it made a timid comeback, and now designers from all four fashion capitals propose incorporating it into the autumn wardrobe. The most progressive brands offer shirts and skirts, dresses and trousers, jackets and coats made from patent eco-leather. Even designer Alexander Terekhov has created pencil skirts and fitted dresses for the SASHAVERSE brand using black, beige, and vibrant red patent leather.

This material evokes many associations, including the wardrobes of rock stars. One recalls the miniskirts by British designer Mary Quant from the 1960s, the Chanel trenches of the 1990s with a dominatrix vibe, and the tight, smooth, shiny, oil-like jumpsuits by Richard Quinn.

But this year, designers have approached the rebellious nature of patent leather in a more mature way, using the material to add intrigue to clean-lined garments that exude "quiet luxury." They could almost be called wardrobe staples if not for the provocatively glossy eco-leather.

If your autumn wardrobe feels boring, try on some patent leather and get ready for the spotlight – pieces made of patent eco-leather always draw attention.

Those looking to make a statement won't go wrong with a SASHAVERSE patent skirt. Choose a mini for a provocative look or a midi that's perfect for a business wardrobe. It's essential to balance patent eco-leather with matte wool or cotton, for example, pairing it with a plain knitted pullover. For maximum effect with minimal effort, an SASHAVERSE fitted patent leather dress will work best.
